How to Find BIOS Version in Your PC Quickly

There are times when you need to check an update of BIOS or try to troubleshoot a problem via identifying the version of BIOS. But, how can you do that quickly without hassle? Please keep reading.

Method one: Check System Information

Click Start and put in System Information. Right after you select it, the System Information dialogue box will be displayed.

Scroll down the list, you will find BIOS Version information.

Method Two: Using Registry

1. Click Windows Key + R to bring up the Run dialog box. In the blank field, type: regedit and hit Enter.

Next, expand the following keys continually: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\SYSTEM\BIOS and in the right pane look for the BIOSVersion string. There, you will see what you look for.

Method three: Using Command Line

Open up Command Prompt. Type wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion. After that, hit Enter on the keyboard. It gives you the BIOS version:
