How to Disable/ Enable the Startup Sound in Windows

Windows do has Startup sound by default. At first you might like the login sound, but, after a while it may become boring or just annoying. Then, you will want to disable it. Here in the post we’ll show how to disable or enable the Startup sound in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Step one- Right click on any blank area of the desktop, and select Personalize.

Step two- Click Sounds button.

Step three- Uncheck “Play Windows Startup sound” option.

Step four- Click Apply, then OK.

Disable Startup Sound in Windows 7 & Windows 8 through Control Panel

Step one- Open Control Panel.

In Windows 7
Click Start button, then Control Panel.

In Windows 8
Hit Windows key and I key together, then select Control Panel.

Step two- Click Hardware and Sound.

Step three- Select Sound option.

Step four- Click Sounds tab, then uncheck “Play Windows Startup sound”.

Step five- Click OK.

Step one- Click Start button, then Control Panel.

Step two- Under Large icons view, click Sound.

Step three- Select Sounds tab.

Step four- Check “Play Windows Startup sound” option.

Step five- Click Apply, then OK.

That’s it! As you can see, the whole process is simple and fast. And now you can easily make your favorite changes to the Startup sound.
