How to Disable Autorun Programs in Windows 8

There might be several programs run with Windows start-up once you launch the system. This could reduce your computer performance and increase the booting time. To solve this problem, some of computer users stop these applications from running every time the PC launches. This tutorial will show how to disable start-up programs in Windows 8.

1. Log into Windows 8 with the administrator account.

2. Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop.

3. Once on the desktop screen, right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.

4. From the bottom of the displayed Task Manager, click More details to display the advanced options.

5. Move to the Startup tab. Right-click the program that is to be disabled to run on startup.

6. Click Disable to prevent the selected program from running on startup in Windows 8.

7. Close the Task Manager when it is done.

If you want a disabled program to run on startup, follow step 1 to 7. Once on step 8, click Enable.
