How to Create A Folder without A Name in Windows 7 & 8

Posted by Britt Duncan - August 19, 2014

When we rename a new created folder, the Windows system won’t accept us to only enter spaces. To create a folder without a name, you need to take advantage of a NumPad on the right side of the keyboard. The NumPad usually contains 0 to 9, +, -, *, /, ., Num Lock and Enter keys.

When you right-click to select New and create a folder on the desktop, you can press the Alt key and press 0160 from the Numeric keypad. After pressing Enter key, a folder without a name will be created.

If you want to change its icon, you can right-click the folder and select Properties. Go to the Customize tab and click Change Icon button.
