How to Add or Remove Shadows for Texts on Desktop in Windows

Are you satisfied with the texts on the desktop? Perhaps adding shadows to the texts can make you feel better. The texts with shadows will be more beautiful and easier to use than before. In addition, no matter what background is on the desktop, you can read the texts easily. Now, please follow the tutorial to get this useful trick.
Here are two methods which are applicable for Windows 7 and above versions of Windows.

Method One

Step 1: Press the Win and R keys to open the Run box. And then type Sysdm.cpl to the box and click OK.

Step 2: When System Properties dialog opens, move to the Advanced tab and click Settings button under Performance section.

Step 3: In the Visual Effects tab, look for the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop. Check it will enable shadows, while uncheck the option will disable the shadows.

Step 4: Click Apply > OK and close the dialog. Restart the PC if the changes don’t take effect.

Method Two

Step 1: Press Win and R keys to open the Run box, and type regedit.exe to the box and click OK.

Step 2: In the Regidtry Editor, locate the following key below:

Step 3: Look for the entry labeled ListViewShaow on the right pane. Double click on the entry and change its value to 1 or 0. Enter 1 as value data to enable the shadow.

Step 4: Click OK button and restart the PC. Restart the PC
