Guide to Enable Mic Boost in Windows 7 & 8

Do you find that the Mic is too low to make out clearly when it comes to recording? What is the cause of this problem? Actually, Microphone Boost is generally turned off by default in Windows. Hence, turning on Microphone Boost can help you fix this problem. Please follow the tutorial to turn on Microphone Boost in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

1. Open the Control Panel and click Hardware and Sound.

2. Click on Manage audio devices under Sound.

3. Move to the Recording tab, and click the active Mic marked a green check, and click Properties button.

4. Click the Levels tab when a new dialog opens. Here you may see one or two levels to adjust. Use the slider for the Microphone level to adjust the Microphone boost to the desired level.

Enabling Mic boost doesn’t work?

If the above steps cannot solve your problem, you may move to the Advanced tab. Then uncheck the box of Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device and repeat the steps for boosting the Mic again.
