Posted by Britt Duncan - May 20, 2016

Is Xort a real notification? The answer is definitely negative. No legit agencies will send a notification in this way. According to the infection symptoms, Xort has been categorized as a kind of ransomware infection which is designed by cyber criminals for the purpose of swindling money. If your PC is attacked, it will be locked and there will be a fake notification being displayed on the screen.

To threaten you, the notification usually says that your computer is locked due to violation of the laws, and through paying the fine, you can avoid a criminal accusation released by laws enforcement agencies. When seeing such a notification, what you need to bear in mind is don’t believe any of its words and don’t pay any penny to it. Even though you have already given the money, the real virus will not disappear. After the payment, hackers will modify the command and make Xort virus hide deeply in your system.

Besides, Xort virus is usually bundled with a Trojan virus which can trigger many troubles. For example, that Trojan can exploit security loopholes and introduce other backdoor software which slow down computer running and weaken the entire system. What’s more, the existence of Xort is a huge threat to your privacy. On one hand, it is able to monitor your browsing activities and steal confidential data. On the other hand, when hackers take advantage of the stolen information, you will suffer greater losses. In a word, Xort is a highly risky PC infection, and for the good of yourself, you need to take immediate action to remove it once your workstation is locked.
