Fix:”Your profile can not be used because it is from a newer version of Google Chrome” Error

As some PC users install or reinstall Chrome for some reason, they get a error message stating that the profile cannot be used. This happen as you may use a newer version of Google Chrome previously, but now manage to load a older version due to various reason. Instead of immersing in various versions of Chrome and failing to decide what to download to solve this problem, an easy fix is far more quick. Please read on.


Step one: Show hidden files and folders. Open up Windows Explorer, click Tools at the top and select Folder Options…. In the View tab, select Show hidden, files folder and drives under Hidden files and folders.





Step two:
Click Start. Navigate to C:\Users\Britt\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default. Replace the Britt with your real username.


Step three:
Locate the file called web data. Delete it.


Tips: If you would like to avoid any mistake, you can rename the file to something like web data-2 to use it as a backup. By deleting this file, all your saved passwords, websites, bookmarks will not be removed.

That’s all it takes! Launch Google Chrome to check whether the error message disappear or not.
