Fix “We couldn’t sign you in” Error in Windows 8

Posted by Britt Duncan - January 29, 2015

There are times when you may have hard time to sign into your Microsoft account as the network connection may not be stable. Or, you receive an error message saying that the system cannot sign you in. Here is a quick fix to this issue.

Press Win and R together to bring up Run box and enter inetcpl.cpl. This asks the system to open up Internet Properties.

At the pop-up of Internet Properties and then move to Connections tab. At the right button of the box, click LAN settings button.

This time a new box pops up again. Locate the Proxy server session and tick off the check-box before Use a proxy server for your LAN option.

Click OK. Move back to desktop, right click on the task bar and select Command Prompt(admin).

At the new window, type wsreset.exe and hit Enter.

Thus, windows will empty the cache of Windows Store cache on your system.

That’s the end of it. Now you may try to log in with your Microsoft account again.
