Disk fragmentation is referred to the condition of a disk in which files are divided into pieces scattered around the disk. Fragmentation occurs in your system when you save, change or delete files. In general, the occurrence of disk fragmentation will not do harm to your operating system, but it can slow down computer performance, for instance, your PC takes a long time to boot up and respond you at a slow speed. In addition, you would also suffer random crashes and freeze-ups. If you are annoyed with these problems, you may as well analyze your disk, clean up junk files and fragmentation to improve your system performance.

It is not difficult to clean up your system and defragment your drive. You can find the related functions on various Windows systems.
