3 Possible Reasons for Windows 8.1 Random Restart & How to Fix It

1. Tap Win + X keys to display Power User Menu and select Device Manager from the list.

2. After the Device Manager opens up, right-click a device from the top list and choose Update Driver Software… .

3. Windows will ask you How do you want to search for drive software. Click Search automatically for updated driver software to search for it online

Once it finds any available drive on the web, it will automatically update for you. Repeat this process for every device on the list. Once you finish the update process, reboot the computer to check whether the problem persists. If so, proceed the troubleshooting below.

1. Restart the computer, click Next and then Repair your computer.

3. After the Command Prompt opens up, type dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions and press Enter.
